The much-awaited crime-drama series Jamtara 2 is all set to be released within 48 hours. While the show deals with the phishing scam done by a section of youth from Jamtara, Jharkhand, the creator-director of the show Soumendra Padhi shared some of the incidents wherein many crew members, from producers to writers of the show, got scammed in real life.

Describing the incident, Soumendra told OTTplay, "One of my producers got scammed. One of my writers got scammed. So she saw that there were some special discounts on saree and she thought of buying them. Instead of paying online, she opted for cash-on-delivery so that she could avoid any scam and pay the money, only when she received the product. The delivery happened, she took the parcel in hand and paid the money. After that, when she opened the box, it was all black clothes. There was nothing that she saw when she ordered the saree!"

He said that during the pandemic, one of the camera persons from their team also became a victim of scams by one of the alcohol delivery platforms!

"As we all know that time many of us were craving for wine etc and in the night if you crave something you will go for it! it happened to one of our producers who got victim of a scam when he ordered on that alcohol delivery platform," he mentioned.

The story of Jamtara is set in the village of Jamtara, where two teen brothers Sunny and Rocky, decide to make calls using SIM cards and scam people to earn money. How they become professional scammers and successfully run their phishing business and the series of crimes they put themselves through, takes the story forward.

According to the makers, the show is based on many real-life incidents and information gathered from news reports from the media.

The show is written by Trishant Srivastava, produced by Viacom18 Studios' Tipping Point, is featuring - Amit Sial, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sparsh Shrivastav, Anshumaan Pushkar, Seema Pahwa, Ravi Chahal.

Jamtara: Season 2 will release on Netflix on September 23.
