The crime-drama series Jamtara 2, starring Amit Sial, Sparsh Shrivastav, Anshumaan Pushkar and Seema Pahwa, is now streaming globally on Netflix.
Young actor Sparsh Shrivastav, who plays the protagonist Sunny in the much-loved crime-drama Jamtara: Season 2, says that the intense situation leading up to the cliffhanger in Season 1 made the character all the more interesting for him as he had become a 'ghayal sher' out for revenge.
Considering the fact that his character Sunny goes through a series of personal losses due to his phishing business in Jamtara, as shown in the debut season, and his active participation in the crimes put him in life-threatening situations, we asked him if he feels any sympathy towards his character.
To which, Sparsh told OTTplay, "Koi taras nehi aa raha hai! I think I loved playing Sunny in season two more because he has become a ghayel sher! He is that wounded tiger with a deadly revenge plan in his mind that is driving him crazy to reach his goal. You see, as a young man, he has lost a lot in his life because of the phishing business. He lost his family members, even his leg! He does not fear losing anything anymore and that is making the character Sunny all the more dangerous."
While the first season of the show was released in 2020, the new season has come out today (September 23) after two years.
Since the young actor has gone out and worked on different characters for some of his other upcoming projects and has grown as an individual in the last two years, we asked about how challenging was it for him to come back to the world of Jamtara. The actor shared an anecdote in response to our qestion.
Sparsh told us, "Actually Jamtara is my first big project and it has given me so much love from the audience. So I have a special place in my heart for Sunny. But coming back to an already established character was a little different experience for me. I was worried but Soumendra sir was super supportive."
He went on to add, "The best brief I have got from sir is, 'Sparsh, you are allowed to go wrong. I will stand by you'. That one line I think ease my burden. I remember on the first day, I was not getting the emotion right and sir was there, calm and composed saying, 'Koi baat nehi, aaj jab tak hume ye nehi milta, mein tere saath hoon, we are on your side. It was a heavy emotional scene and I was doing too many takes. But sir was very patient with me."
Directed by Soumendra Padhi, written by Trishant Srivastava, and produced by Viacom18 Studios' Tipping Point, Jamtara 2 features Amit Sial, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sparsh Shrivastav, Anshumaan Pushkar, Seema Pahwa, Ravi Chahal, among others, in leading roles.
The second season of this show is now streaming on Netflix.
