The latest season of the teenage love story, which also stars Tanya Maniktala, releases on October 28
As season 3 of Flames is all set to release, the male protagonist of the show, Ritvik Sahore, shared what makes the show so special for him. He also let us in on what to expect from the new season.
The recently-released trailer of Flames Season 3 shows that it packs renewed energy, as the lead pair of Rajat and Ishita, played by Ritvik and Tanya Maniktala, decide to reunite as friends. They are more focused on studying than romance, considering both of them are dealing with the pressure of board exams.
While expectations are high, Ritvik isn't feeling the pressure before the new release. He is, instead, rather excited to find out how the audience will react to the new season.
The story of Flames is set in Delhi and being a Mumbai boy, Ritvik shared that exploring the capital city through the eyes of his character, Rajat, and his co-star made the show all the more special for him.
In conversation with OTTplay, the 23-year-old actor opened up about this and more just before the show went live.
"When we started working on Flames in 2018, all the co-actors were new to me. But building friendships off-camera was important. I am from Mumbai and all of them are from Delhi. So, I was like, "Bro, what's the best way to vibe with them?" I soon realised that they were all super cool. Shivam (Kakar) and Tanya took me to the narrow lanes of Delhi for street food. We also went to India Gate for ice cream, etc. That was the best way to vibe with the city, as well as my co-stars," recalled the actor.
He also mentioned that now, after three seasons of the show, they are his special group of friends.
Talking about what the audience can expect from the new season, Ritvik said, "I think that I have grown as an individual, while my character is also evolving emotionally. When I was 17-years-old, I was quite like my character Rajat, because that's the age when you do not think from your brain; it's all heart. So, all the emotional mess is for real."
"But in the new season, we are also maturing, while keeping the innocence alive. That was challenging for all of us as performers — to portray vulnerability and maturity at the same time," he revealed.
Flames Season 3, directed by Divyanshu Malhotra and produced by Arunabh Kumar, stars Ritvik Sahore, Tanya Maniktala, Sunakshi Grover and Shivam Kakar. It releases on Amazon Prime Video on October 28.
