The countdown for this year’s Puja has started. Like every year, this time also a series of Bengali films will be released during the Puja. Dhurbo Banerjee’s third instalment of Sonada franchise, Karna Subarna'er Guptodhon, is all set to hit the theatre on September 30. Abir Chatterjee, Arjun Chakrabarty and Ishaa Saha will be seen as Sonada, Abir and Jhinuk will embark on a new treasure hunt.
This is the third film in the Sonada franchise after Guptodhoner Sondhane and Durgeshgorer Guptodhon. Talking about the new film, Dhubo said, “After the pandemic, we all need to cheer up and celebrate. Puja is surely the moment of celebration and so is my film. I have made the film on a celebratory note. Sonada series has been liked by kids and adults alike. This is our Puja gift to our audience.”
On Friday, the first glimpse of the film shows Sonada, Abir and Jhinuk in a set made of computer graphics. The third film of the Guptodhon Franchise follows as the trio has been Invited for a wonderful occasion, the trio's vacation soon turns into a dangerous quest for the greatest treasure of Bengal. As Sonada will try to unlock every clue, his wit and mind will constantly get challenged, while his loved ones will be put on parole and his entire adventure will be under a web of threats until he unearths one of the greatest treasures that Bengal has ever known.
This will be the first time a Sonada film will be released during Puja. The autumn festival sees the release of big banner films every year. This year, along with Sonada’s Karna Subarnaer Guptodhon, Dev-Prosenjit’s Kacher Manush and Parambrata Chatterjee’s directorial, Boudi Canteen, will also be released.
Produced by SVF, the film is scheduled to be released on September 30.
