Actress Sandhya Shetty made her web debut with Dharavi Bank, streaming on MX Player
Actress Sandhya Shetty who played a pivotal part in the Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi starrer web series Dharavi Bank shares her experience of working with a veteran actor like him and how she was in awe after seeing anna shirtless during the shooting of one of the scenes of the show.
Sandhya told OTTplay, "One of the first scenes that we shot was that in which Suneil anna was shirtless and when I saw him like that, I was in awe. He is so fit physically even at this age and has given fitness goals to so many people including youngsters and me. Being someone who has been doing Karate for the last 22 years - and fitness is everything to me - I was almost starstruck."
"From the beginning, I was very excited to work with anna because it was one of those beautiful coincidences that Anna and me, both were making our web debut with Dharavi Bank. I played the character of Parvati, Thalaiva's daughter made it all the more special. Since anna and I are coming from the Bant community, I was feeling so proud," said the actress.
Set in Asia’s biggest slum, Dharavi, Dharavi Bank is the journey of two characters who are pitted against each other. One is a don, Thalaivan (Suniel), who is admired by everyone in Dharavi and the other is a police officer Jayant Gavaskar (Vivek), who is on a mission to deliver justice.
According to her, Suniel was quite generous as a co-actor who also made some suggestions that turned her performance better.
"There was one of the sequences for which, before the shot, anna gave me some suggestions to do the scene slightly differently. But those small changes made everything so interesting. I think those tips only come from experience and the advantage of working with veteran actors like him is this," shared Sandhya.
The actress will next be seen in Priyadarshan's Malayalam film Corona Papers which she already finished shooting for.
Dharavi Bank is directed by Samit Kakkad and also features Vivek Oberoi, Sonali Kulkarni, Luke Kenny, Freddy Daruwala and Siddharth Menon. The show is currently streaming on MX Player.
