Goutam Ghose started working on his Indo-Italian film in 2019. He roped in Italian actor Marco Leonardi, who played the teen years of Salvatore Di Vita in Giuseppe Tornatore’s iconic film, Cinema Paradiso, Italian actress Cristina Donadio, and several others and started shooting in Naples and other parts of Italy in December that year. However, just before the shooting in India, Covid 19 postponed all the plans. Now, the director has started his work again.
As per sources, Goutam and his team currently are shooting in Mumbai. They are scheduled to travel to Madhya Pradesh. While some sources confirmed that Chitrangada Singh will play an important character in the film, there has been no confirmation from the film team yet. There is an important character of a child actor. However, there has been no confirmation of the name of the character. As per sources, Marco Leonardi will also be shooting in India.
Goutam, along with Jagannath Guha, teamed up with two Italian scriptwriters Amedeo Paganini and Sergio Scapagnini, and penned the script. The film is going to be in English, Hindi, and partly Italian.
Meanwhile, Goutam Ghose’s documentary on Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Mujib In Calcutta, will be screened at the 28th Kolkata International Film Festival. The festival will begin on December 15. The shooting of a 30-minute-long documentary that focused on Mujib’s stay in Kolkata was shot in April this year. Ghose interviewed eminent personalities and shot the docu across the places where in Kolkata where Mujibur Rahman had lived, worked, and visited.
