Actor and singer-songwriter Dakssh Ajit Singh appeared in Randeep Hooda starrer web series CAT, streaming on Netflix.
As his performance is receiving a lot of appreciation after the release of the web series CAT, actor Dakssh Ajit Singh, who came back on-screen after a break of four years from his career on TV and Punjabi films, opened up on the phase of waiting for the right project to arrive and feeling worried of taking a break from a well-settled career just to find a space in Hindi entertainment industry.
Dakssh told OTTplay, " With the kind of response I am getting from the audience and the way they gave recognised my performance as Laadi in CAT, I think my long wait of four years was absolutely worth it. I was working constantly on TV and in the Punjabi film industry but I really wanted to do something in Bollywood or say in Hindi cinema and web series space. So I stopped working on TV and was just waiting for the right script to come."
"It was not easy for me to leave everything and wait though I was working constantly before that. Leaving a set of work and taking a break and then dealing with a pandemic was all too risky. I was waiting for the release of CAT and how the audience reacts to my work because, at times in a multi-starrer project, actors get unnoticed. But I am thankful that things are falling in place, people are recognising my work and I am also getting calls from the members of the film fraternity. I am hearing script narration," the actor shared.
Starting his career as a fitness model, the actor has extensively worked on television shows as well as in the Punjabi film industry where he not only acted but also produced films.
Dakssh has acted in TV serials like - Akbar Ka Bal Birbal, Paramavatar Shri Krishna, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap, Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak?, Chaldi Da Naam Gaddi among others.
He acted in Punjabi films Rahe Chardi Kala Punjab Di and Arsho, which he produced as well.
The eight-episode web series is directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, Rupinder Chahal and Jimmy Singh; also features Suvinder Vicky, Pramod Pathak, Geeta Agarwal and Hasleen Kaur among others. It is streaming on Netflix.
