Exclusive! Bigg Boss 16: Is Sreelekha Mitra gearing up to enter the house?

The new season of Bigg Boss 16 is all set to go on the floors. Social media went abuzz with speculations over the probable contestants and the fee hike of the host. As per sources, Tollywood actress Sreelekha Mitra is likely to enter the house this season as a contestant. While there have been no official confirmations yet, according to sources, the team of the show was in talks with the actress. Meanwhile, Sreelekha remained unavailable to comment.

In fact, as per Tollywood industry sources, Sreelekha Mitra has been keeping her calendar free for a ‘Hindi project’ for several days in September. The actress has reportedly visited Mumbai for meetings.

The official announcement may take place in September when the show will go to the floors. However, before that, the media speculations are high about Salman Khan’s rumoured remuneration hike. In Bigg Boss 15, he reportedly charged Rs 350 cr. As per media reports, he is likely to charge three times more than last season.

Despite no official confirmations, it has been reported that this year the theme of Bigg Boss will be the ocean. There will be five rounds before the participants reach the main show. The speculative participants so far are comedian Munawar Faruqui, internet sensation Faisal Shaikh, TV actor Shivin Narang and Vivian Dsena. Besides, there are other names, including Poonam Pandey, Anjali Arora, Shiney Ahuja and Ankita Lokhande, which surfaced in the media.

Meanwhile, Sreelekha Mitra has been busy with her directorial work. The first part of her three-part anthology, Ebony Chad, was recently screened at Nandan. The talented actress was nominated at The Indian Film Festival Melbourne as the Best Actress for her work in Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s Once Upon A Time In Calcutta.
