The actor opens up about the mental block he had and how he faced it during the shooting of the show Badtameez Dil, which is streaming on Amazon miniTV
Actor Barun Sobti is on a roll. Two of his shows, Aur 2 and Badtameez Dil, completely different from one another, have been released within a short span of each other and have been well received by audiences. Speaking with OTTplay, the actor shared that he had a big emotional block during the shooting of the rom-com web series Badtameez Dil. He revealed that this was one of the biggest challenges for him as an actor.
"When I started my acting career, I used to find things like acting at a live location in front of many people challenging. Now, those things are not difficult anymore. My character in Badtameez Dil is interesting, but it was a huge emotional challenge for me to play it correctly. I am someone who is very bad at confrontation; it is my shortcoming. I cannot confront a friend, even when there is a fight or if I am upset. I am someone who will run away from it, as with time things naturally get sorted and settled, after which I start talking again. I am so bad at confronting someone that if I know I have to face such a situation, I start sweating and my fingers start trembling. I get nervous; it is a mental block," said Barun.
So, when he found out that he had to tap into his emotions that he is otherwise uncomfortable exploring, he was nervous until the shooting of such scenes was done.
Barun explained, "When I read a certain scene for Badtameez Dil,I cannot tell you how emotionally challenging it was for me. In one scene, I had to raise my voice against Ridhi Dogra's character, and I was very nervous on set that day. I was also behaving differently with Ridhi that day because I just wanted to be done with the scene. Eventually, that scene turned out very well and is one of the best in the entire show."
Badtameez Dil also stars Ridhi Dogra, Minissha Lamba, Mallika Dua, Shivam Bhargava, and Aalekh Kapoor. It is produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and is available to stream on Amazon miniTV.
