The composer, behind the superhit tracks of Vikram and Don, has reportedly been approached by the makers of the upcoming movie
Anirudh Ravichander has been one of the most sought-after music directors in the country right now, and as per reports the Vikram and Don composer could soon be making his Mollywood debut by scoring the tunes for Dileep’s superhero film Parakkum Pappan.
The composer has reportedly given the nod to be part of the movie, which is directed by debutant Viyaan Vishnu and would go on floors later this year, according to a report in Kerala Kaumudi. The film, which was announced several years ago, is scripted by Two Countries filmmaker Raffi.
When OTTplay got in touch with Raffi, he said, “The project is very much on. We have finished the first draft of the script, but there will be a few revisions that we have to do before locking the script. It falls under the ‘naadan’ superhero genre.” On Anirudh being part of the movie, he said that he has not been informed of that development.
Incidentally, Rafi is also directing Dileep’s Voice of Sathyanathan, which will resume its second schedule later this month. “It’s a big budget film. We had completed its Kerala portions earlier this year and from July end onwards, we will begin shooting in Delhi and Mumbai,” he says.
The movie, which is touted to be a realistic entertainer, has Dileep playing a furniture shop owner, who only says things that other people want to hear. The film also has Joju George and Veena Nandakumar as part of the cast. “Joju has completed his portions and this upcoming schedule with Dileep will have a lot of Hindi and Tamil actors,” says Raffi.
Meanwhile, Dileep has had only one release since the pandemic – Nadirshah’s Kesu Ee Veedinte Nathan – that dropped directly on Disney+ Hotstar. “Both Parakkum Pappan and Voice of Sathyanathan have been planned as theatrical releases,” says Raffi.
