Billed as a thriller, Debaloy Bhattacharya’s next web series  will feature Ananya Chatterjee and Saurav Das.

Debaloy Bhattacharya’s latest work Boka Bakshote Bondi is currently streaming on Hoichoi. Meanwhile, the director is all set with his next production. This time, he will be making a thriller for Camellia Productions’ upcoming OTT platform, Fridaay. While there has not been any official announcement, our sources confirmed that the project will feature Ananya Chatterjee and Saurav Das. As per sources, there is another important female character. However, the actress is yet to be finalised for that role.

The working title of the show is Hajar Chhiyashir Maa – a take on Mahashweta Devi’s novel and Govind Nihalni’s film, Hajar Churashir Maa. However, Debaloy and his team will change the title. While the story has nothing to do with the Naxal movement, mother-son dynamics are said to be a part of the show. The story is penned by Debaloy. The shooting is expected to start in August. Ramyadip Saha will work as the DOP, Sanglap Bhowmik, in editing, and Amit Chatterjee will be composing the music.

Camellia has been planning to launch their OTT platform for a while. There are multiple projects lined up to be dropped. Arindam Sil’s Unishey April and Joydeep Mukherjee’s cop drama with Anirban Chakrabarti are some of the projects that will be dropped on the platform. 

In fact, Srijit Mukherji will also work on a detective series, Bidyutlata Batabyal. Penned by Adheesha Sarkar, the character Bidyutlata is a hacker and lives around Kolkata’s famous Sonagachi area. She solves crime through her razor-sharp mind and helps cops. Earlier, it was reported that Arindam Sil will make a web series for Fridaay. Sauraseni Maitra’s name was announced as the lead character. Arjun Chakrabarty was also supposed to play a key character. Now, according to reports, Srijit will direct the show. On the other hand, besides Unishey April, Arindam is scheduled to direct Adarsha Hindu Hotel with Mosharraf Karim and Ananya Chatterjee.
