Hollywood movie(s), motherhood, global fanbase, marriage to childhood crush… There's nothing that Bollywood megastar Alia Bhatt cannot do, be or have! And so, when we met her at the song launch event of the now-live love ballad ‘La Ilaaj’ in New Delhi, she told us that for Darlings, she is keeping her fingers crossed.
“Well, on set I am an actor first. I don’t think I walked onto set thinking ‘Oh, my acting process needs to change because I am producing' or things like that. In fact, I think the producer in me woke up much later. I have always been an actor only (chuckles!),” Alia Bhatt exclusively told OTTplay when asked about her transition from being an actor to now an actor-producer.
Alia then went on to explain that although she has always been protective about all her films, Darlings has a special place in her heart.
“Now you feel a bit different but I have always been protective about all my films. So maybe I feel more protective about Darlings because we have worked really hard on it and that’s with every movie. With every movie, we work really really hard. I think you just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best (smiles!),” she further added.
Darlings is Alia Bhatt’s first film production under her banner Eternal Sunshine, and the star has collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment for this Netflix original dark comedy.
Directed by debutante Jasmeet K. Reen, Darlings also features Vijay Varma, Shefali Shah and Roshan Mathew in pivotal roles and will be released globally on Netflix on August 5, 2022.
