Ali Merchant is now in Lock Upp with his ex-wife Sara Khan. He has entered Kangana Ranaut’s jail at a time when Lock Upp contestant Shivam Sharma has made grand love gestures for Sara. Ali calls his antics cute and says he can’t blame Shivam for the way he is.

“His behaviour was pretty cute. How can I blame him for how he is? People who are from Delhi, they are extreme because their climate is also extreme. It’s not his fault. It’s about his upbringing and how he sees things. If somebody can match that, they will,” Ali said, wishing well for both Sara and Shivam.

Calling Shivam ‘vanilla ice-cream’, the actor-turned-DJ added, “I’m a Bandra boy. I saw Andheri when I was 20. All of this is a different world for me. He’s cute and is a vanilla ice-cream.”

Ali, however, cleared that he loves people like Shivam. “I love people who are extremes – jo thandi mein sookh jaayenge aur garmi mein bheeg jaayenge, dhoop mein jal jaayenge. It’s not his fault na? He is like that. It depends where you are from, what is your, your city and nation’s history,” the actor added.

We further asked Ali what would he do if Shivam gets hyper and tries to take the violent route in order to protect Sara. The actor said, “I know my body is in its best shape at this time but I won’t show it off. When I have to, then of course I will but not without a reason. I don’t need to prove anything to anyone.”

Ali said he would approach Shivam by laughing at the situation. “You (Shivam) can show off your body and I will entertain myself. When I show off my body, you will disappear from the show,” he warned.

Ali had married Sara on Bigg Boss 4. The show aired in 2010 and became a huge hit after they took the step.
