For all the fans of actor Suriya who missed watching him in his swashbuckling action avatar after Singam 3, here's some good news. The first look and glimpse of his 40th film, titled Etharkkum Thunindhavan, directed by Pandiraj, was released on Thursday on the eve of his birthday (July 23). All we can say is that it promises to be an action feast for audiences, showcasing Suriya in a rugged, never-seen-before avatar.
Tapping the intensity of Suriya to the fullest, the glimpse has him donning a veshti, holding a dagger, sporting a long-haired, bearded look and it's a delight to watch him at his energetic best after ages. The slick glimpse, released on the digital channel of the film's producers, Sun Network (Sun TV), lasts only for 39 seconds but it justifies the fan's long wait for the title and the actor's look in the film.
Etharkkum Thunindhavan is a special title for Suriya given it's named after his father, actor Sivakumar's film that released in 1976. The film marks the second collaboration of Suriya and Pandiraj after Pasanga 2. Priyanka Mohan, last seen in the Telugu film Sreekaram, is cast as the leading lady. Etharkkum Thunindhavan has music by D Imman and is presented by Kalanithi Maran. The film will only release after Suriya's untitled project (#Suriya39) with filmmaker T J Gnanavel hits theatres. Suriya will be next seen in Gautham Menon's short for the Netflix anthology Navarasa.
