Enthada Saji stars Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya and Nivetha Thomas in the lead roles.
Actor Nivetha Thomas seems to be quite upbeat about her upcoming movie Enthada Saji, which roughly translates to 'what, Saji?.' On Sunday, she unveiled the teaser of the film, which also stars Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya in the lead roles.
The teaser opens with Nivetha's character recounting the good old days when she sang in a church choir. That memory is so close to her heart because it's where she had her first brush with love at a first sight. She tells her life story to a church priest, played by Kunchacko Boban. The duo seem to have a very warm and friendly relationship with each other. She blushes when she talks about the man of her dreams Roy, played by Jayasurya. She and Roy were part of the same choir. But, the twist is it's not the boy who falls head over heels in love with the girl. It's the girl's love story and Roy becomes the object of desire.
Writer-director Godfy Xavier Babu seems to have flipped the conventional tale of unrequited love. It's safe to assume that in this story, it is not the boy but the girl who is pining for the boy. Don't be surprised if the director throws in some supernatural element in the mix to make it more heartwarming.
It's a nice change to see Kunchacko in clean makeup. Of late, he has been doing realistic movies and it has become a rarity of sorts to see him be part of a fairytale story such as Enthada Saji. He garnered a lot of critical acclaim for his realistic performances in Pada, Nna Thaan Case Kodu, and Ariyippu.
Enthada Saji also marks his onscreen reunion with Jayasurya after a long gap. In the past, the duo worked together in several movies, including Swapnakoodu, 101 Weddings, Four Friends, Three Kings, and Gulumal. Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum.
