Studio A24 is known for their acceptance of budding filmmakers like Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig, and Midsommar director Ari Aster
Actors Emily Watson and Willem Dafoe will take up prominent roles in studio A24’s upcoming fantasy movie titled The Legend of Ochi.
Helmed by debutante director Isaiah Saxon, the movie is about a young girl who runs away from home and learns to communicate with a unique animal species known as Ochi.
Director Saxon is known for making music videos and projects for artistes like Kanye West, Grizzly Bear, Bjork and Dirty Projectors.
Besides Watson and Dafoe, the movie also has Finn Wolfhard, and Helena Zengel in the cast. According to Deadline, The Legend of Ochi is based on original characters by Saxon, including the screenplay.
Dave Longstreth is on board with his original music score. He is also a frequent collaborator of Saxon’s animation and film studio Encyclopedia Pictura.
Saxon and Encyclopedia Pictura will produce with Traci Carlson and Richard Peete (for Neighbourhood Watch) and Jonathan Wang (for Year of the Rat). Executive producers lined up for The Legend of Ochi are The Russo Brothers, Mike Larocca, Angrla Russo Otstot and Lousie Lovegrove.
Meanwhile, A24 is much popular for working with filmmaker’s like Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird), and Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar). The Legend of Ochi is expected to be a big breakthrough for Saxon as well.

The production of The Legend of Ochi is currently reported to be in its initial stage and hence more details about the cast or characters or release are yet to be out.
