Another engineer-turned-filmmaker is making his way into Telugu cinema. Sandeep, a civil engineer by qualification, is testing waters as a director and a producer with a Tamil-Telugu bilingual titled Emi Sethuraa Lingaa (and Pala Mugham in Tamil). Starring Vinod Varma (Dhruvangal Padhinaru, Paperboy), Gnaneswari Kandregula (Nee Jathaga, Mr and Miss), Keshav Deepak, Anand Chakrapani and Pawon Ramesh in key roles, the slice-of-life film has already wrapped its shoot and the first poster was released today.

Featuring a man with face paint on the lines of Joker (the popular Batman universe character) and another man who walks past his blood-soaked tears, Emi Sethura Linga's black-and-white poster, designed by Jairam Ravichandran, catches your attention instantly. The key attraction to the film is the presence of Academy award-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty who agreed to come on board right after a chat with the filmmaker on a social networking site. The makers are tight-lipped about the film's plot although they assure that its soundscape merited someone as big as Resul Pookutty.

Emi Sethura Linga was ideated as a theatrical release when the project took off but the team is now considering an OTT release. Two leading streaming platforms are in contention for the OTT release and the team is quite hopeful that the film will get its due in the digital space. The bilingual is currently undergoing post-production and the film may release in late September or October. Abhiraj Nair has cranked the camera for this project while Jen Martin has scored the music for the same.
