Kangana Ranaut might find a decent Box Office collection for Emergency, especially after Dhaakad and Thalaivii failure in post-pandemic
Kangana Ranaut in Emergency
Kangana Ranaut has seen an all-time low with her back-to-back disasters, especially in the post-pandemic era. However, her latest offering Emergency might just turn the tables around for her. The actress might get her first highest-grosser in the post-pandemic era i.e. in 5 years since releasing her movies. This happens just as there's high speculation that she will no longer work in the movies.
Well, this does not come as a surprise. Since Kangana has delivered disasters in her post-pandemic era (Panga, Thalaivii, Dhaakad, Chandramukhi 2 and Tejas), the one movie which the critics deem watchable is likely to end up being her highest-grossing post-pandemic film. It is to be noted that these are just predictions and the real Box Office numbers of Emergency are yet to be out.
Emergency is being touted as a chapter rushed in trying to make a film. The makers (Kangana and her team) have managed to make the movie bearable but it does not cover many chapters in history, as per critics. Netizens, on the other hand, cannot stop praising her acting skills. With finally a mixed bag of reviews, Kangana might just find her first highest grossing Box Office film in the post-pandemic era.
Emergency, based on the dark period in India's history, covers Indira Gandhi's life as the PM. Kangana plays Indira in the film which is directed and produced by her. Before switching to politics, Kangana declared Emergency as her last movie since she was tired of how Bollywood treats women. However, from what we see, Kangana has not shut the door completely on Bollywood, for now.
Also starring Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman and Mahima Chaudhary, Emergency was finally cleared by the censor board and released in theatres on January 17.
