It will be interesting to see how Emergency performs on day three of its theatrical release. The film, produced by Kangana Ranaut, Zee Studios, and Renu Pitti, features the actress as former Indian PM Indira Gandhi. In this film, Anupam Kher is seen as Jayaprakash Narayan, and Shreyas Talpade essays Atal Bihari Vajpayee's role.

Kangana Ranaut on Emergency

In an interview with News18, Kangana Ranaut spoke about directing Emergency and the delay in the film's theatrical release. "I felt that it was a wrong decision to release it in theatres. I thought I could have gotten a better deal on OTT. I also wouldn’t have had to go through censorship then and my film wouldn’t have been dissected. I didn’t know what all they (the CBFC) would remove and let us keep," she said.

The actress further mentioned the wrong choices she made. "I made the wrong choices on many levels: firstly, wanting to direct this film. I took it for granted that even though we don’t have a Congress government," she added.
