The joint production will see a slate of high-concept horror films in Hindi and other languages
Ekta Kapoor is heaping all the praises for her latest reality show Lock Upp, hosted by Kangana Ranaut. And, to much delight of the fans, the producer has now joined hands with the producers of cult horror film Paranormal Activity for something special.
As reported by IANS, Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, Armaan Zorace's US genre label Dark Hell and producer Steven Schneider, known for the Paranormal Activity franchise, have all come together for a multi-film production deal.
A slate of high concept horror-thriller films will be made in Hindi and other Indian languages under the deal. The latest reports suggest that the three production entities will deliver the movies in India.
According to Times of India, Kapoor said: "At Balaji Motion Pictures, our aim is to continue telling genre-bending stories which connect with the viewers. I am elated for this association, and I'm certain to be bringing together the best of cross-cultural content to the Indian diaspora." She added that these opportunities will help explore new markets and that this collaboration is of mutual ideas and intent.
Calling the deal a landmark for him and his team, Schneider said that India is an exciting market known for putting across revolutionary content across genres. He also shared his excitement about working with Kapoor and Zorace.
Steven Schneider’s Paranormal Activity came out in 2007 and is considered as a game changer in the horror genre. The found-footage treatment worked well for the film, which was directed by Oren Peli. The franchise now consists of seven films.
