Nani, Keerthy Suresh and Dheekshith Shetty essay lead roles in the film produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under SLV Cinemas
An editor is always the first viewer of the film. He witnesses the footage in a raw form, structures it efficiently, makes the storytelling more coherent with time. It’s always said that editing can make or break a film - a strong script may lose its way during the edit while a bad result could be salvaged too. Hence, it becomes imperative for any film team to take their editor’s suggestions seriously.
In most promotional events, editors often stay away from the limelight but they are indeed the unsung heroes of the industry. Award-winning editor Navin Nooli, who worked on films like Jersey, Sir, Veera Simha Reddy, is also part of the team of this week’s pan-Indian release Dasara. A day ahead of its release, he had many words of praise for the film’s director Srikanth Odela.
“#Dasara will hold a special place in your hearts. Srikanth executed this emotional ride like a veteran director. Proud of you @odela_srikanth!,” the technician tweeted about the director of the Nani, Keerthy Suresh starrer. It’s very rare for an editor to express such confidence about a film prior its release and it reflects that team Dasara has readied a quality product.
Even during the teaser launch of Dasara, the editor wrote, “This is just a small sample of what is in store. @nameisnani and @odela_srikanth will surprise you.” Dasara is a story set amidst the backdrop of Singareni coal mines in Telangana, revolving around three characters - Soori, Dharani and Vennela, essayed by Dheekshith, Nani and Keerthy respectively.
