Ed Sheeran has been performing in India for his much-awaited Mathematics tour. On the eve of March 16, he set the set the stage on fire with Diljit Dosanjh, by singing Lover in Punjabi.

Ed Sheeran is in India for the next leg of his Mathematics tour and the star has been singing hanging out with several Bolly favorites, from time to time, be it Shah Rukh Khan or Farah Khan. This time, he went bigger and won the hearts of Mumbaikars with his sweet and humble collaboration on stage with Diljit Dosanjh.

Belting out the Punjabi lyrics to Lover as the crowd went crazy, Dosanjh surprised all by holding the microphone close to a guitar-strumming Sheeran, when the latter began to sing. Music lovers got the most memorable night of their lives, seeing Diljit Dosanjh and Ed Sheeran performing Lover, together on stage.

Ed Sheeran has shared a video from the concert, expressing his excitement of singing in the sweet Indian language. The clip showed Ed Sheeran giving a wonderful shoutout to Dosanjh, before welcoming his “brother” onstage. Diljit Dosanjh also posted a clip from the concert, tagging Ed Sheeran and captioning, “Brother Singing in PANJABI for the First Time. BURRAAAA. Cha Deya Ge.’

Almost minutes later, neither netizens nor Bollywood celebs could resist commenting on the exciting posts from the two musical icons. Bhediya star Varun Dhawan called their collab “global domination”, while rapper Badshah hilariously wrote, “Bro got ed paaji as guitarist”. Indian vocalist Harshdeep Kaur and author Ravinder lauded Dosanjh for globalizing Punjabi music and winning hearts.

Some Instagram users even inquired if this is the future of Punjabi music, international collaborations with the likes of Sia and Ed Sheeran. Being singing sensations in both their realms, the collaboration between Diljit Dosanjh is a dream come true for many fans, who now eagerly await their next musical stint.
