Despite commencing the year on a triumphant note with Waltair Veerayya, Ravi Teja faced multiple disappointments this year as an actor and a producer. Ravanasura, which he starred in and co-produced along with Abhishek Nama, failed to set the cash registers ringing. His home production Changure Bangaru Raja sank without a trace while his Dussehra release Tiger Nageswara Rao only flattered to deceive.

Much like 2021 and 2023, his filmography next year too will comprise a Sankranthi release - Eagle, directed by budding cinematographer Karthik Gattamneni. Kavya Thapar, Anupama Parameswaran play the female leads in the action saga produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory. The first single from the film - Aadu Macha - sung by Naatu Naatu fame Rahul Sipligunj - was released today.

DavZanD composes the music for the film while Kalyan Chakravarthy is the lyricist. Aadu Macha introduces Ravi Teja’s character and his bearded avatar to viewers, where he dances in the backdrop of a religious ritual in a village. Donning a shirt and a lungi, the ‘mass maharaja’ is at ease with his dance moves and body language in the rustic number choreographed by Sekhar (master).

The number, filmed like a dream, is instantly pleasing to the senses. ‘Thurupu Thunaka..Erupu Baarene..Elugu Duniki Dunkuladene..Yenumu Yenuka Yenumu Kadhilene..’ are the opening lines of Aadu Macha, in which the westernised orchestration complements the local beats. While Aadu Macha may not be an instant ear-worm, it’s likely to make an impression more as part of the narrative.

Navdeep, Srinivas Avasarala, Ajay Ghosh and Madhoo are also part of the film which is set to hit screens on January 13, 2024. Karthik Gattamneni (also the editor) and Manibabu Karanam have jointly written the story, dialogues for the film. Karthik Gattamneni, Kamil Plocki and Karm Chawla are the cinematographers, while Srinagendra Tangala is the production designer.
