Prabhas' Salaar locked horns with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki at the box office. Here's how the films have fared at the ticket window.

Prabhas' Salaar has been unstoppable at the box office since day one of its theatrical release. The film, directed by Prashanth Neel, shattered a few box office records despite stiff competition from Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki. Both movies clashed at the ticket window this Christmas. While Salaar has collected over ₹300 crore at the ticket window, SRK's Dunki is inching closer to ₹200 crore mark.

According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Prashanth Neel's Salaar minted ₹10 crore on day 8 at the box office. Considering the same, the total collection of the Prabhas starrer stands at ₹318 crore. As far as Dunki is concerned, the Rajkumar Hirani directorial earned approximately ₹7.25 crore. This brings the total BO collection of SRK's film to ₹167.79 crore.

While Salaar's domestic collection is ₹318 crore, the violent-thriller's worldwide collection is expected to reach ₹550 crore. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan's movie is likely to earn over ₹320 crore globally. However, official figures from the makers are awaited.
About Dunki and Salaar
Dunki marked Shah Rukh Khan's first collaboration with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani. The film, which released on December 21, also features Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal. The story of the movie revolves around the lives of four friends, who wish to go to England. Without a VISA and passport, a soldier helps them to reach their dreamland by crossing borders.
Salaar, on the other hand, is Prashanth Neel's film starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The movie revolves around the friendship of Deva and Vardha in Khansaar. The star cast also includes Tinnu Anand, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Shruti Haasan, and others. The makers have already announced the second installment, which is titled Salaar: Shouryanga Parvam.
