Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, will release in theatres on December 21
Jaipur’s GT Mall recently received an invite, supposedly from Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. This was in regards to his upcoming movie Dunki. Upon learning about the same, the production house has taken upon itself to clarify that the invite is nothing but fake news and no promotions are happening there as of now.
Whereabouts
The letter commenced with calling Dunki ‘blockbuster’ and went on to talk about the film’s promotions in the mall on December 23, which is two days after the movie releases in theatres. The letter was sent on December 14 and was signed by a certain Venky Mysore, claiming to be the CEO of the company.
Detailed event plan
The letter mentioned a detailed event plan, which began with a press conference at ITC Rajputana. It claimed that there would be an activity which would involve not only the superstar SRK but also his co-stars from the movie, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal. The letter further said that the activity should take place within half an hour. It demanded security from the staff as well.
The note from Red Chillies
Red Chillies Entertainment promised that they would keep people informed in case of an event but this was not it. They shared on Instagram, “A fake promotion invite from the Red Chillies Entertainment is being circulated for the film Dunki in Jaipur at GT Mall on 23rd December 2023. Please note that this is absolutely untrue and neither Red Chillies nor the cast nor anyone associated with the film is supporting this. We request everyone to refrain from participating in it.”
Dunki marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani. It is also his first time working with Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal as co-actors. The movie is SRK’s third release in 2023 after Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan and Atlee’s Jawan.
