The Dunki day is finally here. Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani's eagerly awaited comedy drama hit theaters all around the world on Thursday, January 21. The film, which is based on illegal immigration, also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, and Boman Irani in key roles.
A movie-buff from New Zealand attended one of the first shows, and he shared his thoughts of Dunki on X. The social media user, who goes by the name moonstruckdad, praised Rajkumar Hirani and Shah Rukh Khan for delivering an excellent patriotic movie. Additionally, he remarked that Vicky Kaushal's performance would move you.
Post watching the first half of the film, the user wrote, “1st half done. #Dunki is an emotional roller coaster. You laugh & cry at the same time. #Vickykaushal will be remembered and yes ‘Hardy namuna nahin hain’ – he is King Khan. Missing home #DunkiFirstDayFirstShow @iamsrk @iFaridoon @SRKUniverse.”
Later he shared a video and thanked the director for bringing back Shah Rukh Khan and he also asked everyone to not miss watching this film. He captioned the video: “#Dunki will remain forever as emotion Missing home – Patriotism in style,” he added.

Shah Rukh is aiming for his third big hit of the year with Dunki. The actor began 2023 with the action comedy Pathaan, which was directed by Siddharth Anand and grossed over Rs 1000 crore worldwide, in January. The actor beat his own record in September when he teamed up with Atlee's masala actioner Jawan, whose global gross profits exceeded Rs 1100 crore.
Tomorrow, on 22 December, Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran's pan-India action film Salaar opens in theaters, putting Dunki in direct competition. Directed by Prashanth Neel, this film also stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, and Eeswari Rao.
