Dunki Box Office report: Shah Rukh Khan goals fourth largest opening of the year; collects over $2 Million overseas

As the year comes to a close, Shah Rukh Khan is back with yet another film, 'Dunki.' The Rajkumar Hirani directorial has been receiving mixed reviews. Although Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal are receiving all the praise, it's the script of the film that is falling a little short. Now, after a day of the film running in theaters throughout, the overseas box office reports for the film are out. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer has managed to collect USD 2.65 million, which is INR 22 crore.

According to reports in Pinkvilla, Dunki stands as the fourth-largest opening of the year. The first and second spots on the chart are occupied by none other than King Khan himself with 'Pathaan' and 'Jawan,' while Ranbir sits in the third spot with his film 'Animal.'

Globally, the film has managed to earn approximately Rs 56 crore, with a contribution of Rs 34 crore from the Indian market. Australia came as the surprising biggest support in making Dunki earn a good amount. The opening of the film in the Australian market is higher than SRK's last film 'Jawan.' Dunki has managed to earn about AUD 425k in Australia, taking the third biggest start ever for a Bollywood film in the country.

Germany, which is predominantly Shah Rukh's stronghold, opened with nearly EUR 100K from just 70 shows. North America also performed well in terms of box office collection, with the film earning about USD 800K. Although other places gave a good response to Shah Rukh Khan starrer, the Middle East had a lower estimate, with the film earning only about USD 900K on day 1.
