Dunki box office prediction - After Pathaan and Jawan, will Shah Rukh Khan deliver a blockbuster hattrick?

With the release of Jawan and Pathaan in 2023, Shah Rukh Khan dominated the box office. The actor is all set for his third release of the year, Dunki.

Tomorrow will see the worldwide premiere of Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan's third film of the year which will cap off an incredible year for the superstar. His two prior releases, Pathaan and Jawan, set all-time records for gross collections in addition to being box office blockbusters. Dunki has also created a lot of excitement, with notable advance bookings.

Naturally, fans of movies anticipate the high level of entertainment that Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are all set to deliver in their first collaborative project. However, with Pathaan and Jawan, King Khan has remade himself as an action hero. He witnessed a massive record opening there; the former became the first Bollywood film to enter the 500 Crore Club, while the latter opened the 600 Crore Club. Unlike, the first two releases of the year, Dunki seems to be more on the emotional side than the action entertainer.

Dunki Box Office Prediction

In terms of advance bookings, the movie is respectable and not particularly noteworthy, unlike Pathaan or Jawan, which both caused a stir at the box office. According to the trade website sacnilk, Dunki sold 4.49 lakh tickets as of 7 p.m. on Wednesday, earning a total of Rs 12.57 crore for its first day of sales. The movie is expected to end its advance booking run on the first day of release with a gross of approximately Rs 15 crore, significantly less than the advance ticket sales revenue of Pathaan, Jawan, or even Gadar 2.

Dunki Vs Salaar

The biggest point that needs to be noted is that Dunki will clash at the box office with another big release, Salaar, starring Prabhas, which will release a day later than SRK's film.

Although it's a guarantee that the movie will earn 30 crores at the opening, the total might extend to 33-35 crores. Anything above and above that would be extremely beneficial for Dunki. After social media reactions and word-of-mouth, it will be interesting to see the Saturday collection for Dunki and Salaar.
