Dune: Prophecy season 1 has now come to an end as the finale episode rolled out and turns out we have been left on a meaty cliffhanger.
Dune Prophecy Ending Explained
The ambition to build a future with no thinking machines, and tech that helps us to fight wars between planets if not countries sounds so crazy right? Frank Herbert wrote books with that idea decades ago and Denis Villeneuve and Alison Schapker are busy turning that into visual content that is top-notch. The world of Dune is so vast and lends itself to so much that it is fascinating that no one between 1984 and 2021 thought about delving into it cinematically. Turns out Denis took the trophy home and we now see his universe bloom into a show Dune: Prophecy. Today, December 23, marks the end of the first season as episode six aired on JioCinema in India and fans across the world have been celebrating.
The finale of Dune: Prophecy was stuffed with a whole lot at a runtime of 81 minutes. There was so much that it might just be overwhelming to take in at the same time and might need a break for a couple of minutes, but all of it was worth it. So episode 6 takes us through the Imperium turning upside down and Empress Natalya is now against Emperor Javicco Corrino and Desmond Hart now serves her. Ynez is now revealed as the most important key in the future of the sisterhood, and Valya takes a very bold step to save her. Between this is Francesca who is torn between love and duty. Tula is trying to save her son who has been exploited by a force no one knows. In this comes the end that leaves us wanting for more but the wait is long now.
So the climax of Dune: Prophecy season one is top-notch drama as we see it starting with Tula stopping Valya from killing Desmond Hart and letting him live. Tula takes the responsibility to find a cure for him and save him from the ones who took him from the Sandworm and turned him into a weapon of destruction. We see Valya leave Tula with her choice and Tula goes to Desmond and touches him. The tender moment sees the two finally see each other and embrace. But that cuts into soldiers coming in and Desmond ordering them to arrest her. It makes sense because Desmond has just realized that his mother is a part of the Cult that he has hated all his life and wants to destroy and that also makes him somewhere connected to the Sisterhood.

The frame then cuts to Arrakis where a flight is landing. The doors open as we see Valya Harkonnen, Ynez Corrino, and Keiran Atreides come out of it. Valya welcomes them to Arrakis and this means so much. Ynez is the future Empress of the Imperium as per the plan of Sisterhood and Valya needs to save her at any cost. So she took Ynez with her to Arrakis. But that is not all, on Arrakis Valya also has some other investigations to do. Find out who turned Desmond Hart into a weapon. Remember her vision that showed her a faceless enemy that operates Hart’s eye and fits the weapon to trigger the fear virus in people to kill them?
Valya of course wants to find who that was and why they did that to Desmond in the first place. The second season will mostly have Valya on this quest and also save Ynez. As for Keiran, he is an Atreides, and there is no way in hell he is trusting a Harkonnen, so now as he sets out with Valya, it is only to protect Ynez and that will be an interesting dynamic to see growing. Besides, Dune: Prophecy now lands in Arrakis, and it means season 2 will be majorly based on the deadly planet. More of Shai-Hulud is incoming!
