Dune is the second feature film adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel after David Lynch’s attempt in 1984, led by Kyle MacLachlan.
Based on Frank Herbert's novel of the same name, Dune is set twenty thousand years into the future. The sci-fi adaptation comes from director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049), and stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya.
Also part of the highly-anticipated project are Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa, who was recently in the dystopian series See 2 for AppleTV+.

What is Dune about?
Set in a dystopian world, Dune revolves around a planet called Arrakis, essentially a desert wasteland that holds one of the important and rich substances of the universe — melange or the Spice — an additive to humans that can also save them from extinction and give them miraculous powers.
This film, described as a “mythic and emotional journey”, will see Paul Atreides (Chalamet) travel to this planet with his father’s soldiers to ensure the future of his family by ensuring that this elixir of sorts does not get into the hands of malevolent forces.
Zendaya on Dune and her character Chani
Zendaya plays Chani, who is native to the Arrakis planet. In an interview with Empire magazine, she described the character as a “fighter.” She also said that her part was extremely small in the narrative, so she only “scratched the surface” within the limited time she had to shoot her role.
She also shared that there is no crazy story associated with her boarding the cast. She has always been a fan of Villeneuve’s, and when she heard he was helming the Dune adaptation, she went and auditioned.
Last year, during the shoot of the film, the actress shared the character poster, where she can be seen sporting a rugged look.
