It’s almost Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday week and the superstar will be kicking off the long list of much-anticipated announcements with a surprise music video – featuring himself and Jasleen Royal. The Malayalam superstar and the composer had shared on their social media that the single titled Heeriye, which will be rendered by Arijit Singh, will soon be released online.

While none of them revealed too many details about the venture, Dulquer had shared the poster on his Instagram page, captioning, “From our hearts to yours… out on July 25.” That’s three days before the superstar’s birthday, on which fans are expecting more surprise announcements from him including King of Kotha promos as well as those from his upcoming movies and web series.

For the uninitiated, Jasleen is a singer and composer, who has worked in movies such as Shershaah, Baar Baar Dekho and Phillauri. The upcoming music video will also have her sharing screen space with Dulquer.

Meanwhile, the Malayalam superstar’s biggest project till date, King of Kotha, is set to release in August. The film, which is also produced by Dulquer’s Wayfarer Films, is a gangster-actioner set in the 80s and 90s in the fictional town of Kotha. Apart from Dulquer, the movie also has Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gokul Suresh, Prasanna, Shammi Thilakan, Chemban Vinod Jose and Shabeer Kallarakal as part of its cast.

King of Kotha, which will also be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, is expected to lead the box office among the Onam releases. The makers have reportedly already fetched record prices for its satellite and digital rights – a sum of almost Rs 40 crore. This, however, is yet to be officially confirmed.

The movie will mark Dulquer’s second theatrical release in Malayalam after the pandemic. Kurup, which was his previous theatrical release, had done business of over Rs 100 crore and the makers will be hoping that King of Kotha doubles that, while also opening doors for more such big-budget ventures in the film industry.
