Reports suggest that the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer is going to be a big-budget film, directed by Nahas Hidayath and that RDX actor Antony Pepe and Tamil actor SJ Suryah could also be part of the cast.
Dulquer Salmaan
Dulquer Salmaan is currently basking in the success of his Telugu period drama Lucky Baskhar. The Malayalam star has also several exciting projects lined up, including a project with Nahas Hidayath who is known for the action thriller film RDX. Though not much is known about the project, some online reports suggest that it is going to be a big-budget film and that RDX actor Antony Pepe and Tamil actor SJ Suryah could also be part of the cast.
It was during the Kerala promotions of Lucky Baskhar that Dulquer Salmaan confirmed that he has joined hands with Nahas Hidayath for a project. The pre-production works of the untitled film are reportedly progressing in full swing.
This will be Dulquer’s next film in Malayalam after King of Kotha, which faltered at the box office. Top technicians have been roped in for the DQ and Nahas film, which is reported to be a big-budget movie. The budget will reportedly be higher than that of King of Kotha, which had a budget of around Rs 50-60 crore. If the report is indeed true, it could be DQ’s most expensive film in Malayalam yet.
The Malayalam movie is set to be filmed on locations in Thiruvananthapuram or Kochi, while some portions could be shot in Hyderabad as well.
Nahas Hidayath shot to fame after the release of RDX, which starred Shane Nigam and Antony Varghese Pepe in lead roles along with Neeraj Madhav, Babu Antony, and Lal, among others. Now for this next outing with Dulquer, Nahas has reportedly roped in Antony Varghese Pepe as well.
Discussions are also ongoing with SJ Suryah, who recently grabbed attention for his stellar performance in Nani-starrer Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. If the reports are true, it will mark the Tamil actor’s second outing in Malayalam. SJ Suryah is set to make his Malayalam debut with a Fahadh Faasil-starrer, which will be directed by Vipin Das who is known for Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, next year.
Meanwhile, Dulquer Salmaan’s Lucky Baskhar started streaming on Netflix on November 28.
