Lucky Baskhar, the Dulquer Salmaan starrer directed by Venky Atluri, has made an extraordinary opening at the box office. The movie is set to have extra shows in Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Lucky Baskhar, the period crime thriller marked Dulquer Salmaan’s comeback to the big screens, after a long gap. The movie, directed by Venky Atluri, has been receiving excellent reviews from audiences. As expected, Lucky Baskhar made an exceptional opening at the worldwide box office, and earned around Rs 12.7 crore, on Day 1 at the theatres. The movie, which initially had a minimal release in both Kerala and Tamil Nadu, has reportedly got a massive number of extra shows in the states.

For the uninitiated, Lucky Baskhar had a limited release in Kerala, with around 170 screens across the state. When it comes to Tamil Nadu, the movie was initially released on just under 70 screens. Even though the Dulquer Salmaan starrer created a stir with its promising teaser, the lack of pre-release hype was quite evident in the other states. However, things have taken a different turn after the release. The Venky Atluri film impressed cinephiles with its excellent making and performances. The recent updates suggest that Lucky Baskhar has received a massive increase in its screen count.

If the latest updates are to be believed, the Venky Atluri directorial has had around 80 additional shows in Kerala, from the second day of its release. When it comes to Tamil Nadu, the screen count has reportedly touched 120. The show count is expected to increase further in both states, during the first weekend. While considering the extraordinary word-of-mouth publicity, it is safe to assume that the Dulquer Salmaan starrer is set to have a great first weekend at the box office.

If things proceed at the same rate, Dulquer Salmaan's film has a high chance of surpassing its Day 1 box office collections, with its second day’s earnings. In that case, it is also safe to assume that Lucky Baskhar will cross the Rs. 25 crore mark at the worldwide box office, within the first 2 days of its release. The Venky Atluri directorial is also expected to cross the Rs. 50 crore mark, by the time it completes the first weekend of its release.
