Reports of Mammootty and Chup actor Dulquer has been rampant ever since Amal Neerad’s Bheeshma Parvam hit theatres earlier this year
Fans of both Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan have been waiting with bated breath for the father-son duo to share screen space. This has often led to speculations that have been welcomed with open arms by social media users and fans of the two Malayalam stars. The most recent ones that had set the grapevine buzzing were rumours of Dulquer starring in a prequel web series of Mammootty’s Big B as well as the two acting together in the sequel of Big B, titled Bilal.
Dulquer recently put an end to both these reports. In an interview with Bollywoodlife, the Sita Ramam actor said he was unaware of the source of these rumours about him working with his father Mammootty in Bilal.
The actor also said that Amal Neerad would be the right person to explain the truth. He also added that he would be part of the film only if the sequel demanded such a casting as it’s a hugely-anticipated film. Dulquer, however, also said that it would be great if it did happen.
Incidentally, Bilal was supposed to go on floors in March 2020 and the team had even completed its pre-production and set up the film’s sets when the nationwide pandemic lockdown was announced. The film was then put on the backburner as it required to be shot in several foreign locales. Amal and Mammootty later decided to collaborate on Bheeshma Parvam instead. The movie, which released in theatres earlier this year, went on to become the highest-grossing film in Mammootty’s career.
There were also rumours of a prequel webseries with Dulquer attached to play the younger version of Bilal. This too just seems to be rumours, with the actor neither confirming nor denying the reports. Dulquer meanwhile is set to make his web series debut with Netflix’s Guns and Gulaabs, which is created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.
