The creators of the upcoming Netflix show tweeted a photo of the trio from the last day of their shoot
Dulquer Salmaan and Adarsh Gourav, who play the two leads apart from Rajkummar Rao in Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK’s web series Guns and Gulaabs, have completed shooting their portions in the upcoming Netflix crime-thriller.
The Family Man co-creators tweeted a photo of the trio from the last day of the shoot of the series, with the caption, “When we celebrate the picture wrap of three of our favourite actors.” The web series, which marks Raj and DK’s second collaboration with Netflix after Cinema Bandi last year, is reportedly a blend of ‘90s romance and crime, and is “inspired by the misfits of the world”.
Both Adarsh and Satish had worked on OTT projects earlier. While the former had starred in The White Tiger , which was distributed by Netflix, and the Hindi webseries Hostel Daze, Satish was part of the cast of ZEE5’s The Chargesheet and Sony LIV’s Scam 1992 . The upcoming series, however, will mark the OTT debut for Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan, who was last seen in Kurup.
In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Dulquer had talked about what drew him to the role in Guns and Gulaabs. “I also really like Raj and DK’s work. So, when I heard the narration, I loved the world, my role and sure, there is Rajkummar and Adarsh, who are both phenomenal talents,” said the actor, adding that it’s a format of storytelling that he has enjoyed as a viewer too.
Meanwhile, Raj and DK have also completed shooting for an untitled web series featuring Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi and Raashi Khanna. The series will drop on Amazon Prime Video. They will also be helming the Indian version of Amazon Studio’s upcoming US spy thriller series Citadel, which is created by Avengers: Endgame directors Antony and Joe Russo, and Patrick Moran. Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci star in the US show.
