P Kinslin has directed the movie which hit the screens on December 30,
Aishwarya Rajesh in Driver Jamuna
Driver Jamuna was one of the few Tamil films to have been released in theatres towards the end of 2022. The movie helmed by P Kinslin hit the screens on December 30. Touted as a road thriller, it was initially supposed to be released in November, but the makers postponed their plans owing to reasons best known to them.
The project opened to mixed reactions from moviegoers and critics alike, thanks to partly engaging sequences and lack of a cohesive screenplay. SP Chowthari has bankrolled the film under the banner of 18 Reels.
Gokul Benoy has cranked the camera for the movie which has music composed by Ghibran. R Ramar has handled editing and Anl Arasu has choreographed action scenes for the film. Don Bala and Kabilan have helmed art direction and lyrics respectively.
The story of Driver Jamuna revolves around a female cab driver who faces a slew of unanticipated incidents when three criminal-minded passengers hire her vehicle. The trio's motive is to finish off a politician, but the protagonist gets mired in the chaos, leaving her stunned. How she faces the situation in a bold manner forms the rest of the plot.
Driver Jamuna is gearing up for its OTT premiere. The film will drop on aha Tamil on January 20. An official announcement has been made by the digital platform. Like most of the recent Tamil films that dropped on the avenue, this movie, too, is being made available online after three weeks of its theatrical release.
This was the only theatrical release which Aishwarya had in 2022. Her web series Suzhal which dropped on Amazon Prime Video turned out to be a huge hit, though. She is awaiting the release of almost half-a-dozen projects now.
