Mohanlal fans are eagerly waiting for August 17 (Chingam 1) for the big announcement
This Chingam 1, which falls on August 17, promises to be a treat for Mohanlal fans. Twitter is already abuzz with an exciting announcement that the actor and his team has in store for the audience. Several projects are being speculated with the top ones being Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Empuraan and Jeethu Joseph’s Drishyam 3.
Now that Mohanlal has completed shooting for his directorial debut Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure, his schedules have freed up for him to take up bigger films. An Empuraan announcement is likely considering that Prithviraj last month had said that the film’s script has been locked and that he will begin the pre-production of the film early next year and with the film going on floors soon after that.
Drishyam 3 is also another possibility, with Mohanlal and Jeethu currently working together in Ram. The duo will head to the UK in September to wrap up the film, which has been envisioned as a pan-Indian action-thriller that will be released in two instalments.
But those aren’t the only big projects that are in Mohanlal’s line-up. The big announcement could also be regarding the superstar’s upcoming movie with Athiram director Vivek. The actor had recently announced that he’s teaming up with the director, but held off on revealing any further details. The cast and title of the film could be out soon as well.
Then there’s Mohanlal’s latest signing, which is touted to be a heist thriller revolving around the infamous 2007 Chelembra Bank Robbery. The star is reported to be playing the investigative officer in the film, which might also have Fahadh Faasil as part of the cast as the kingpin of the robbery of a jewellery.
Mohanlal is also gearing up for two releases – Shaji Kailas’ Alone, which will drop directly on a streaming platform, and Vysakh’s Monster, which is set to hit theatres on September 30. We will have to wait and see what the exciting announcement is, but all of these projects have enough hype among the fans.
