Dragon, the 2025 Tamil film starring actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead role, is still successfully running in cinemas, as the film is inching towards the 100-crore box office within India. While the film has collected over 100 crore already worldwide, the coming-of-age family drama has already gone on to become the highest-grossing Tamil film so far in 2025, surpassing Ajith Kumar's Vidaamuyarchi.

Dragon box office collection day 19: Pradeep Ranganathan’s film shows no stoppage

After delivering successful Love Today, Pradeep Ranganathan came back with yet another blockbuster, Dragon. The film has not yet completed one month in theatres, but is already on track to collect Rs 100 crores. With its 19 days of theatrical run so far, Dragon has collected Rs 93 crore in India. It is just a matter of days, the film will enter the prestigious 100 crore club with its collections from India.

Dragon is written and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, who earlier made Oh My Kaduvule, available on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium app. In his sophomore outing with Dragon, the filmmaker collaborated with his long-time friend Pradeep. AGS Entertainment has backed the film.

The film revolves around a college student who has 48 arrears and is jobless. But one day, after his girlfriend breaks up with him, the protagonist uses cheating methods to get into an illustrious job with good pay. But there comes a day when he is given the ultimatum to finish his college backlogs. Actors Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Myskin, Gautham Menon, VJ Siddhu, Harshath Khan and others are also part of the film. Netflix has bagged the post-theatrical rights of the film.

What is Pradeep next working in?

Pradeep is next teaming up with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan a film titled Love Insurance Kompany. It stars Krithi Shetty, SJ Suryah, Gouri Kishan and others. The film is expected to have a 2025 release, with music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Vignesh Shivan, who is known for his whacky ideas, is setting the premise of LIK in the futuristic world. As you wait for the film, you shouldn’t miss the filmmaker’s Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, a romantic action drama that is available on OTTplay Premium at discounted price.
