Dostana 2 is the sequel to the 2008 hit Dostana, and features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead.
Kartik Aaryan’s sudden exit from Dostana 2 has created many headlines earlier this year. The actor was supposed to share the screen space with Janhvi Kapoor in the Karan Johar backed movie, under the banner of Dharma Productions.
He was silent about the matter since the news, but now he has finally opened up about the exit at Agenda Aaj Tak 2020. The actor said that he was not a part of any Bollywood campus and he has reached his career solely due to his talents. He also added that he didn’t want to comment on Karan Johar’s movie.
Announced in 2019 Dostana 2 is the sequel to the 2008 hit Dostana. The filming had come to stagnation owing to the pandemic’s lockdown. However, when the production began after a pause, reports about Aaryan’s and Karan’s fallout began to circulate, which led to the actor’s exit from the movie. Neither of them had reacted to the news earlier.
Later, Dharma productions issued a statement announcing Kartik’s replacement, due to professional circumstances. No further explanations was given in the statement, rather than promising everyone about revealing more very soon.
The 2008 movie featured Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra in prominent roles. It was helmed by Tarun Mansukhani, while the sequel is to be directed by Collin D’Cunha. The latter will also feature Laksh Lalwani, Asha Bhat, and Abhishek Banerjee.

Meanwhile, Aaryan is basking in the success of his latest Netflix film Dhamaka. The actor has the most-expected Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 in his kitty.
