After its Tribeca world premiere in June, John Cho’s upcoming drama Don’t Make Me Go will be out on Amazon Prime Video. The streamer made this announcement alongside a first look still that features Cho as Max and Mia Isaac as his teenage daughter Wally.

Directed by Hannah Marks, Don't Make Me Go is a father-daughter road trip film.

“When single father Max (Cho) discovers he has a terminal disease, he decides to try and cram all the years of love and support he will miss with his teenage daughter Wally (Isaac) into the time he has left with her. With the promise of long-awaited driving lessons, he convinces Wally to accompany him on a road trip from California to New Orleans for his 20th college reunion, where he secretly hopes to reunite her with her mother who left them long ago,” reads the synopsis shared by Amazon Prime Video.

The press release adds that the story will explore the “unbreakable, eternal bond” between the two with “heart and humour.”

Mitchell Hope, Jemaine Clement, Stefania LaVie Owen, Kaya Scodelario also play pivotal roles in the film.

Vera Herbert has written the script for Don't Make Me Go which began as a spec script that got on the 2012 Black List. Herbert also serves as an executive producer on the film. The movie is produced by Donald De Line, Leah Holzer and Peter Saraf.

Cho was last seen in the live-action adaptation of the classic anime Cowboy Bebop and most popularly known as Harold in the Harold & Kumar film series. Meanwhile, Isaac is a newcomer actor.

Don’t Make Me Go will be released on Amazon Prime Video on July 15.
