Sivakarthikeyan in Don
As announced earlier, the makers of Don have unveiled the movie's trailer at its pre-release event which was held at Chennai sometime ago. The two-and-a-half minute video has Sivakarthikeyan essaying a spirited engineering student who is clueless about his future. He aspires to become a cricketer, a dancer, a gangster, a politician, and so on.
He is seen sporting two looks in the trailer, that of a teenage school boy and a college student. Priyanka Mohan plays his romantic interest in the movie which has been directed by Cibi Chakaravarthi.
Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for the film which has three songs. SJ Suryah plays a college principal; the conflict between his character and Siva's role is said to be the plot of the film. Samuthirakani, Balasaravanan, Kaali Venkat, Sivaangi and Mirchi Vijay among others essay important roles in the campus drama.
Sivakarthikeyan Productions has bankrolled the film in association with Lyca Productions. Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies has bagged the project's theatrical rights in Tamil Nadu. Don will have a theatrical release on May 13. It is expected that the film will be released in a huge number of screens in the state.
KM Bhaskaran and Nagooran have handled the movie's cinematography and editing respectively for the film which has stunt choreography by Vicky and dance composition by Shobi and Sandy.
Don was initially slated for a release in January, but the third wave of the pandemic made the makers come up with another release plan. They announced March 25 as its release date, but Rajamouli's magnum opus flick RRR, too, announced the same date for release because of which team Don decided to arrive in May. The film is Siva's second movie during the pandemic era. Nelson Dilipkumar's Doctor was his first movie to be released during the post COVID time.
