Ever since Ranbir Kapoor started working in Bollywood, he has been very careful about the choice of films he takes up on. In 2018, he featured in actor Sanjay Dutt’s biopic ‘Sanju’ which earned him lots of appreciation from the critics. Come this year, he is earning praise for his powerful onscreen presence in ‘Animal’. In both these films, the 41-year-old actor played a violent character with a pure heart. While Ranbir continues to polish his skills, social media users wonder whether Animal and Sanju have commonalities.
Ranbir Kapoor decodes how his acting in Animal is different from Sanju
During a press meet held in Bengaluru last evening, Ranbir Kapoor elaborated on how his performance in Animal is different from Sanju. He said, “I think after looking at the first shot of the trailer, many people feel that I appear like Sanju sir (Sanjay Dutt) because of my hairstyle and clean-shaven look. But, let me clarify that the film (Animal) has no reference taken from Sanju. Aisa kucch nahi hai!”
“I have said it multiple times and I will say it again. Sandeep Reddy Vanga (Animal director) is an original filmmaker. Whenever he used to design or think of a scene, I never had any reference from anywhere... not even from Hollywood. Itne naaye tareeke se dikhate hai who har cheez cinema pe. (He shows everything original in cinema.) The way he thinks and writes is … (giving thumps up) … and it has no reference from anywhere,” Ranbir wrapped up the answer.
Ranbir said it in the presence of actors Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and the team of Animal which was present last evening in the press meet as well.
