The film features Shefali Shah and Rakul Preet Singh in pivotal roles.
Ayushmann Khurrana in a still from Doctor G
The trailer for the much-awaited Doctor G is finally out. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana in the titular role, the actor is seen as a medical student who reserves a seat to study gynaecology. And thus, he becomes the only male student in his batch, much to his dismay and discomfort. However, most of the time, he tries his hand at shifting his department to orthopaedics until he meets his professor, Dr. Nandini Srivastav, played by Shefali Shah.
She asks him to discover his "male touch" so as to get comfortable with his female patients. Moreover, Rakul Preet Singh, as a fellow doctor, Dr. Fatima Siddiqui, plays Dr. Uday Gupta's (Khurrana) love interest. She is also seen ragging him during one of the sequences in the trailer.
The trailer also features Sheeba Chaddha as Khurrana's onscreen mother, who is planning to get on online dating.
Since the first look was unveiled, there has been a lot of anticipation for the movie. In the movie Doctor G which is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, Khurrana plays a medical student. The actor, who is well known for playing distinctive parts and delivering captivating storylines throughout his career, has once again, in a true manner, tackled another subject with his distinctive style of impactful comedy that promises to provoke conversations.
Given the dearth of comedies released in 2022, this one looks to be a treat for comedy fans!
The film marks the first outing of Ayushmann, Rakul, and Shefali together on the big screen. Moreover, this is Ayushmann's next outing after the socio-political drama Anek which hit the big screens earlier this year. Rakul was last seen in the recently released Cuttputlli, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The film premiered on Disney+ Hotstar.
Doctor G marks the directorial debut of Anubhuti Kashyap and is hitting the big screens on October 14, 2022.
