Doctor G review

Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana's latest outing Doctor G, which is a social comedy based out of a medical college campus and features Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead, may have won hearts with the freshness of its content but the social comedy is struggling to bring people to the theatres.

Ayushmann Khurrana's Doctor G focusses on him as being the only male student in the gynaecology department at a medical college. On Monday, just three days after thew film released in theatres on October 14, the film managed to make merely 1.5 crores and reportedly saw a massive fall of over 50 percent after its initial release, as per a report by Hindustan Times. The report further stated that the film has made only 1.5 crore rupees on Monday.

For the unversed, Doctor G is a medical-campus comedy featuring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, Sheeba Chaddha and Shefali Shah in pivotal roles. Co-written by Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh, Saurabh Bharat, and Anubhuti Kashyap, the film marks the directorial debut of Anubhuti Kashyap.

Despite the freshness of its content, according to a report by Boxofficeindia.com, Ayushmann Khurrana's film has seen a drastic the drop of close to 60 percent in box-office collections on Day 4 since its release on October 14, 2022. The same report stated that the film is doing slightly better in areas such as Delhi-Uttar Pradesh as compared to the rest of the country.

Doctor G focusses on the life of Uday Gupta (Ayushmann Khurrana) finds himself as the lone male student in the Gynaecology department. His reluctance leads to chaos, confusion, comedy and eventually, great camaraderie with his fellow classmates.
