Anurag Kashyap’s thriller Dobaaraa will hit the theatres on August 19. The lead actress and actor Taapsee Pannu, Pavail Gulati, along with producer Ektaa R Kapoor came to the City of Joy on Thursday and attended a press conference. Later, actor Prosenjit Chatterjee hosted a special screening of the film at a city multiplex. Several members of the fraternity, including Parambrata Chatterjee, were spotted at the do. Anurag Kashyap, who gave the press conference a miss, attended the screening for a while.

Meanwhile, on the day of release, Taapsee and Pavail visited Kalighat Temple for blessings and aarti. They entered the temple through Gate No 3 at around 7.30 am. Inside, they did aarti and Puja. They left the premises before 8 am. While talking to the media, Taapsee said, “Ami tomake bhalobashi, Kolkata. Today is the release of Dobaaraa and hence, we wanted to seek blessings from Kalighat.” The duo is slated to leave Kolkata after the puja.

At the press conference on Thursday, Taapsee, Pavail and Ektaa talked about their views on the film. Taapsee shared her experience of getting to know about the topic. Meanwhile, Pavail emphasised his work experience with Taapsee for the second time after Thappad. On the other hand, producer Ektaa also talked about why she chose this topic and how she got on to this project.

Meanwhile, Dobaaraa will see a theatrical release after it travelled across the globe attending festivals. The film was screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, Fantasia International Film Festival, and London Film Festival. The makers presented the film to its audience in multiple cities, including Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi. Now the film will be screened in Kolkata.
