Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s recent directorial venture, Animal, turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of actor Ranbir Kapoor’s career. Criticised for being misogynistic, the film nonetheless found a massive audience across the world. To thank God for the success of Animal, Vanga went to the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. He did this by tonsuring his head and offering his hair.

Vanga attended the trailer launch of Vishwak Sen’s upcoming film Gaami last week, where he shared major updates about his next directorial venture with Prabhas, Spirit. The director revealed that the shooting for Spirit will begin by the end of the year. The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar.

Adding more excitement for Spirit, production designer Suresh Selvarajan hinted that Prabhas' portrayal in Spirit will surpass the scale and grandeur of Ranbir Kapoor's Animal.

Speaking in a Tamil interview, Sandeep revealed that he is planning to release the Prabhas-starrer either in December 2025 as a Christmas special or during Makarsakranti in 2026.

At the trailer launch of Dukaan, Vanga said that Spirit is a compelling tale about an honest police officer.

Announcing the film, the official handle of T-series had posted, "It's a partnership built on trust, fueled by creative freedom, and fortified by an unbreakable bond. Producer Bhushan Kumar and Director #SandeepReddyVanga unveil the next cinematic wonders – Prabhas' Spirit, Animal Park (sequel of Animal), and an Allu Arjun saga – the chapters that follow the monumental success of Kabir Singh and #Animal."

Apart from Spirit, Sandeep is also set to work with Allu Arjun on an untitled project.
