Vijay’s pan-Indian film Leo has been making noises for all the right reasons ever since its launch. Right from the character posters to the first single Naa Ready and the shoot updates, the makers have done well to tease audiences, keeping them abreast of the developments surrounding the film. Trisha, Arjun, Sanjay Dutt play other pivotal roles in the action entertainer.
SS Lalit Kumar, who produced Master, is bankrolling the film while Jagadish Palanisamy is the co-producer. The actioner is releasing in multiple languages this year on October 19. There’s an interesting development surrounding the film’s release in Telugu states. Sithara Entertainments, which has produced films like DJ Tillu, Sir, is venturing into the distribution space with Leo’s Telugu version.
They promise the biggest release in Vijay’s career in Andhra Pradesh/Telangana on October 19, where it’ll be locking horns with Ravi Teja’s biggie Tiger Nageswara Rao. The news was announced commemorating the birthday of the banner’s producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi. “Nenu vasthunna readyy-gaaa. We are thrilled to announce that @SitharaEnts has officially bagged the Telugu theatrical rights of #LEO #LEOwithSitharaEntertainment,” the banner tweeted.
The famed lineup also comprises Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, Mathew Thomas, Jafer Sadiq, Madonna Sebastian, directors Anurag Kashyap, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin. The film’s shoot was wrapped in 125 working days and was extensively filmed in Kashmir and Chennai. The action sequences in the film are choreographed by Anbariv.
Anirudh Ravichandran is scoring the music for the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial - his third with the director after Master and Vikram. Manoj Pramahamsa cranks the camera and Philomin Raj is the editor. Vijay’s last release in Telugu was Vaarasudu (Varasudu), which met with a moderate response from audiences. The film can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
