After the audiences were disappointed to see the demise of Divyenndu Sharma’s character of Munna Tripathi in second season of Mirzapur, buzz is he will make a ‘comeback’ in the third season!
The advent of OTT platforms has definitely given way too much talent from all spheres. Be it acting or direction or any other talent under the sun, the OTT platform has definitely got something for everyone. Amidst the influx of many shows and dramas, there was one name which really stood out, thanks to its hard hitting but realistic kind of content.
No prizes for guessing, we are indeed talking about the Karan Anshuman, Gurmeet Singh and Mihir Desai directed Mirzapur, which was streamed on Amazon Prime Video. For the ‘still-unversed’, the series follows the story of Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), the undisputed don in Uttar Pradesh’s Purvanchal area.
The first season of the show was as hard hitting and interesting as the second one, with the only difference being that the character played by Divyendu Sharma (Munna Tripathi) was sorely missing in the second season. The latest update about Munna Tripathi is surely going to bring smiles on everyone who missed him in the second season.
It was during a discussion at the Film Companion Front Row, the show’s producer Ritesh Sidhwani was asked about the possibility of having the comeback of Munna Tripathi in the much awaited third season. To which, the prolific producer replied that, unfortunately, Munna Tripathi couldn’t come back into the series the way it was. In the same breath, he added, but there could be something interesting for which the audiences would have to wait. He emphasised that there was something where Munna would be entering back into audiences' lives!
For the unversed, let us tell you that the character of the arduous gangster Munna Tripathi played by Divyendu Sharma turned out to be one of the most loved characters of season one. Just as when everyone was in love with his character, they got a shock of their lives when they got to know that Munna Tripathi won’t be present in the entire second season as the script demanded his demise.
