This is his third collaboration with Sithara Entertainments after Rang De and Sir
Venky Atluri, who started his career as an actor with Madhura Sreedhar’s Sneha Geetham, took a surprising turn as a director later. Having made his debut with the romantic entertainer Tholi Prema, starring Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna, he struck a chord with gen-Z, thanks to films like Mr Majnu, Rang De and the recent release Sir/Vaathi, headlined by Dhanush.
Two of the director’s films - Rang De and Sir - were produced by the reputed banner Sithara Entertainments, which has consistently launched newcomers into the industry. Commemorating Venky Atluri’s birthday today, the production house has announced their third project with the filmmaker, tentatively titled Production No. 24. The banner confirmed the news over a tweet.
“Wishing our dearest Blockbuster director #VenkyAtluri a very Happy Birthday. #HBDVenkyAtluri. We promise to give another quality entertainer to best of our abilities with #Production24. A new journey commences soon! @vamsi84 @SitharaEnts,” the post read. In a recent interview, the director hinted that his upcoming project will revolve around a financial scam.

The director, who was very aware of the fact that he went into a comfort zone and repeated his storytelling tropes across his first three films - Tholi Prema, Mr Majnu and Rang De - made it a point to reinvent himself with Sir. He has said many memes about his films compelled him to write Sir and it looks like he’s treading a new path with his next film too, going by the hints.
Sir, now streaming on Netflix, is one of the biggest hits in Tamil and Telugu this year and is the best grosser in the career of Dhanush. Amidst heavy expectations, Venky Atluri looks set to commence work on his next shortly. The details of the cast, crew will be out soon. Sithara Entertainments is also coming up with films like Tillu Square, Vaisshnav Tej’s next VST04, Vishwak Sen’s VS11 as well.
