The filmmaker is collaborating with Akhil for the first time for a spy thriller whose shoot commenced in July
Filmmaker Surender Reddy is a brand second to none in helming paisa-vasool action entertainers in his own wacky style, be it Kick, Ooseravelli or Athanokkade. The director, who last worked on Chiranjeevi's magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, is teaming up with Akhil Akkineni for a spy thriller Agent, whose shoot commenced on July 12 this year. Taking a break from his shoot, the filmmaker graced the success celebrations of Most Eligible Bachelor held in Hyderabad on Monday. He gave a glimpse of what audiences can expect from Agent during his speech.
"I know the energy that Akhil got during the making and now, with the success of Most Eligible Bachelor. It's the same spirit that he has passed on to me while shooting for Agent too. If Most Eligible Bachelor has given Akhil Akkineni a platform to prove himself as an artiste, be ready to witness Akhil Akkineni, the star in Agent. That's all I can say about the movie as of now," Surender Reddy shared at the event.
He further added, "I have worked for Geetha Arts (producers of Most Eligible Bachelor) for two projects in my career and Allu Aravind (garu) makes filming feel so easy for all directors who associated with his banner. I can't wait to do a film for the banner again. If a team puts together their efforts in the right direction and work hard, achieving success isn't as difficult. The team of Most Eligible Bachelor has proved that"
Akhil Akkineni and Sakshi Vaidya are paired opposite each other in Agent, with Malayalam star Mammootty expected to join the film's shoot shortly in Europe. Reportedly, Mammootty has allocated ten days for the film and may play a military officer in the same. Actors Mohanlal and Upendra were considered for the roles as well though the plans didn't attain fruition. Agent is inspired by the action-thriller franchise The Bourne Series. It is written by Vakkantham Vamsi and will have music by S Thaman.
